Below are twenty simple exercises for your eyes that can be used to strengthen your eye muscles, relieve tension and improve your eyesight.
Blinking – Blinking is a simple way to ease tension and help with the focus on the problem. Computer users often blink less frequently, especially when the focus is attention. As an exercise try to accidentally blink every 3 to 4 seconds for about two minutes. Every time you blink your eyes go through a brief period of darkness and help clean and lubricate the surface of the eye.
Palming – This is designed to give your eyes a break for a few minutes and to rest your mind by turning off the input from the eye. Rub your hands together to warm them, or warm them in warm water. Position your palms so they close your eyes. The heel of your hand should rest on your cheekbones and your fingers should rest on your forehead. The idea is to exclude all the light so that when you open your eyes and blink you only see the darkness. Just opening your eyes and looking into the dark will relax your eyes. Repeat this twice a day for 10 to 15 minutes.
Sunning – Try this at least once a day. While your eyes are covered see directly in the sun or bright lights. Move your head from side to side. This puts light into the peripheral vision and head movements enhanced blood flow to the neck region.
